Rising up from the streets of Los Angeles, Midnite Theory is poised to bring real hip hop back to the forefront of popular music. With Nash the Kid weaving his tales of hardship and heartbreak, and Jeremy \"Hi-Tops\" Hanlon belting out huge hooks behind the music of a live band, Midnite Theory makes you stand up and take notice. Nash, grew up listening to Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, and other singer-song writers. He began writing poems and short stories at the age of 10, which helped sharpen his ability to write lyrics at an early age. However, it wasn\'t until he was in junior high that Nash found his true calling. Influenced by hip hop and the likes of Dr. Dre, Warren G, Domino, A Tribe Called Quest, and De La Soul, Nash began to develop as a rapper. Eventually Nash began working exclusively with Kitchen Works Productions (KWP). The label\'s owner/producer, Jeremy Hanlon, had developed his own accomplished musical resume working on tour with the Wu Tang Clan, Hot Wire, and several local artists currently on his label\'s roster. After working with Nash on a solo album that dropped in 2007, the two decided to put together a band to showcase their music. The band (which includes Danny Shaw on guitar, Matt Lieberman on bass, Kris Karpenter on drums and Jeremy on keys), immediatly jelled and began using their wide range of influences to create music that moves you while creating a live soundtrack for the many poignant stories that Nash has to tell. Danny, is as much influenced by Thrice as he is by Jack Johnson. Matt honed his in-the-pocket bass groove by playing along to early punk bands like the Clash and Black Flag, while Kris uses his reggae style of drums and percussion to really push the beat. Mix these elements together and you get a highly unique genre-bending sound that can only be described as Midnite Theory. The band just put the finishing touches on their first album, and is staying busy with gigs all over California. They are the new breed of live hip hop, a force that is changing the rules and making the music that they love, while winning over fans and critics alike. It\'s not just hip hopď...it\'s Midnite Theory.
